G.I. Jobs and Viqtory are proud to present the 2021 Veteran Champion of the Year in Corporate America award, a prestigious honor awarded to those who champion our nation’s veterans by seeking to improve the recruiting, hiring, retention and career advancement of veterans. These advocates work to bridge the cultural gap between veterans and civilian employees.
Eligibility:
Nominee should demonstrate a proven track record of advocating on behalf of our nation’s veterans by seeking to improve the recruiting, hiring, retention and career advancement of veterans, and working to bridge the cultural gap between veterans and civilians.
Criteria for Judging:
Goes above and beyond in advocating for the recruiting, hiring, retention and career advancement of military veterans
Seeks to improve programs and services for veterans in corporate America
Works to bridge the cultural gap between veterans and civilian employees who are unfamiliar with the military community
Champions Guard and Reserve employee rights under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and advocates for additional benefits above and beyond the basic requirements of the law
Procedure/Selection:
Anyone may nominate a Veteran Champion candidate. Self-nominations are welcome.

The 2021 Veteran Employee Leadership Award is a prestigious honor awarded to employees of an organization who are U.S. military veterans and demonstrate the finest qualities of our nation’s military, including leadership, teamwork, discipline, determination, adaptability, a strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude. Veteran employees do not need to be in an official leadership role to be eligible.
Eligibility:
Nominee must be active duty, Reserve, Guard, or an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces
Nominee must be a full-time employee of the organization
Nominee should be a veteran employee who has demonstrated a meaningful contribution to the organization, fellow employees and the community through leadership, teamwork, discipline, determination, adaptability, a strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude.
Criteria:
Goes above and beyond in the performance of his or her job responsibilities
Sets a good example for others by demonstrating leadership, teamwork, discipline, determination, adaptability, a strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude
Mentors other veterans and employees
Volunteers at work and/or in the community
Advocates to improve programs and services for veterans at the organization and/or in the community
Works to bridge the cultural gap between veterans and non-veteran employees
Embodies the spirit of effective leadership by treating others with respect, solving problems, and managing conflict
Participates in organization's cultural activities, especially those relating to veterans
